What do the Bible stories of Abraham, Moses and Job have to do with your
prosperity? More than you have perhaps ever believed.
One of the greatest obstacles to achieving financial freedom is the belief that you need to struggle around the area of money. Whether you were raised in a religious environment or not, what I refer to as “Tribal Mentality” beliefs around money are alive and well in every person on the planet. I’m referring to beliefs such as: money is bad, you only need “enough” to get by, and rich people are really unhappy. These are just a few of the debilitating beliefs around money that you may not even be aware of.
Is it really possible that events that happened thousands of years ago to three men may very well be affecting your bank account today? I believe so.
Abraham came from the city of Ur, a highly sophisticated urban center that was known as “The City” – the urban jewel of the ancient lands. Although wealthy and powerful, God told him to leave the comforts of home. Abraham spent much of the rest of his life living like a nomad in tents as part of his “agreement” with God to receive the blessing promised him. He was asked to sacrifice his dearly loved son Isaac and had problems with the women in his life. Although regarded as the ”father” to Islam, Judaism and Christianity, Abraham sacrificed much for the blessings he received.
Belief: You will have to sacrifice to be rewarded. Life isn’t easy.
Moses was born to a Hebrew woman in slavery in Egypt. As all male babies were to be killed as part of the genocide against the enslaved nation, his mother hid him in a basket that she placed amongst the reeds in the Nile river. He was discovered and came to be raised by the Pharaoh’s daughter as part of the royal family. However, as he was out observing the plight of his “real” family in captivity, he witnessed a fight between an Egyptian and a Hebrew. He killed the Egyptian, and buried him in the sand. However, Moses soon realized that his actions had been observed and so in grave danger, he fled for his life. He ended up as leader of the nation of Israelites
but wandered in the desert for forty years and had many trials and tribulations. Moses was never allowed to enter the “Promised Land” despite years of faithful, albeit imperfect service to God.
Belief: When you try to help others, you suffer. No matter how hard you try or how much good you do, you are never good enough.
Job was the wealthiest of all the Orientals according to the Bible. He owned
livestock, land, had a wonderful family life and enjoyed the “good life”. Satan, the archenemy of God, observing Job’s abundance and questioning Job’s motives, asked God to allow him to persecute Job and take away everything. God agreed and Job went through hell. He was inflicted with boils from head to toe, his livestock were killed through freak acts of nature, his once loving wife turned on him and all ten of his children died in a single catastrophic event. Job sat in ashes and scraped his diseased body with broken pieces of pottery to ease the pain. Even his friends ridiculed him for his belief in God. After horrific suffering and grief, he became father to another 10 children and ended up with double the wealth.
Belief: You will pay a high price for “having it all”. Problems and suffering are am expected and accepted result of being righteous, spiritual and wealthy.
You may have been raised on the truth of these stories as I was or you may regard these stories as nothing more than adult fairy tales. I don’t believe it matters. These stories are believed by more than 50% of people on this planet. That means that they affect you and I whether we know it or not. Just as much as we are subjected to a wide variety of chemicals that we automatically breathe in with every breath we take, we are subjected to the “mental” air that we breathe. Until we turn the tide on this mental pollution, we are subjected to it.
If you want to change the beliefs that are naturally and automatically permeating your mind, it is no different than offsetting the physical pollution our bodies experience. We take supplements, we avoid highly polluted areas and we build up our immune system through proper nutrition, exercise and rest.
Do you need to do the same with these insidious beliefs that are an integral part of the sacred writings of all three major religions in the world? Absolutely YES!
You do deserve wealth, prosperity and abundance. You can have these with ease, joy and grace. They are part of your divine birthright. I also believe that it is your obligation as a soul living at this critical time in human history to create abundance and lots of it! Having your own material needs amply looked after allows you to focus some of your time, resources and energy on helping others to appreciate their divine birthright. Poverty, struggle and suffering are belief systems that need to be eradicated from this planet.
Will you do your part in creating a new belief system?
• Start today with an awareness of the crippling messages behind much of the mental air you ingest daily.
• Begin to question your beliefs around wealth and abundance
• Affirm through your reading, your television watching and your associations your fervent desire for wealth, abundance, and prosperity.
• “Get over” the ideas that it is wrong, bad or unspiritual to be rich.
• Embrace abundance and healthy, wealthy thinking in every aspect of your
life.
• Take positive action to create and manifest prosperity in your life.
Have an amazing month of light, love and action.
Blessings,
