A baby whale coming out of the water
Saturday was whale watching day for Greg and I. We spent four hours on a fabulous trimaran out on the Bay of Banderas. We saw a mother and calf “lodging” which we soon learned meant that they didn´t do much that was visible or exciting. We had another mother and calf “breach” which was exciting as they simultaneously jumped out of the water next to each other. Unfortunately, a second and a half delay in the camera means I got a picture of the splash as they reentered the water!
Surprisingly, it was actually a tiring experience as our sailboat buzzed around the large bay of water looking for whales. Talk about looking for a needle in a haystack. However, the captain was excellent and he had good communication with other boats in the area. However, holding my camera for three hours, watching and waiting for that perfect picture was definitely tedious. My arms started to hurt, my hand ached and my head began to pound.
Focusing on exactly where and when the whales were going to emerge took a tremendous amount of energy. The captain had reminded us that the whales did not work for the company and so they were going to do what they wanted…not what we necessarily wanted.
I thought as I was holding the camera for hours, moving around the boat, trying to be in the right place at the right time, that this was alot like running a business. You can have a plan but clients don´t always show up as you want. You can have clear intent on what you want, but sometimes you are disappointed with the results. And sometimes, it can be tiring to stay focused when you´d rather goof off, sleep in rather than get out of bed or not follow through with something when it feels like it´s not working.
As I create my life day by day, I am always aware of what I am manifesting. On Saturday, we manifested whales. Several of them. But we had to show up, pay the price and then be attentive to the captain´s directions of sightings. We had to stay focused. For all that effort and focus, we experienced a fabulous opportunity to see whales.
