We often think of being honest with others. However, are you honest with yourself? What do I mean? Look at the different areas of your life: health, money, relationships, business, weight, family, and home and be honest as to whether or not you are happy with where you are at.
It´s a natural tendency for optimistic people to see the world through rose-colored glasses. We are even taught to “fake it till you make it”, “be happy” and put out the right vibration. That may all have some validity. But honesty as to the reality of your situation is critical to creating the life you want. If you can´t admit you´re broke, then you are unlikely to create wealth. If you haven´t looked at yourself naked in the mirror lately, you may be fooling yourself as to what your body really looks like. If you´ve gone into denial about the lousy marriage or relationship you are enduring, you can hide your pain a million different ways.
The problem is that none of those provide an opening for you to make changes, create a different reality or improve.
So be honest with yourself. You´re not fooling anyone. Other people can see that you are overweight. Your lack of money will catch up with you eventually. Your bad relationship is causing you more stress than you want to admit. Take inventory of your life in all areas just like a retailer needs to keep track of his or her stock on hand. Then you can make the necessary adjustments to create that amazing life you say you want.
