It´s easy to get caught up in the busyness of life and forget how to play. It´s why I love when my partner Greg is in town. He just left a few minutes ago after spending 6 days with me in Sedona. And boy did we play. Alot more pictures will be uploaded onto my Facebook account this weekend but here we were last night at a haunted restaurant in Jerome, an old mining town about 30 minutes from Sedona. Interestingly, a $20 bill disappeared from my wallet last evening and somehow showed up this morning. Were the ghosts having fun or was it the combination of a margarita and the wine?
From the moment Greg arrived, we played. Dinners out at neat restaurants, a fabulous train trip through the Verde Canyon, hikes and incredible swimming holes we discovered in the middle of the desert. Yesterday we went tubing down the Verde River which was a lot of fun and a first for me. This morning we had the most amazing breakfast at a restaurant on the Oak Creek River. We watched a white-tailed hawk land in the river right in front of us and beautiful yellow finches play in the trees above us. It was one of the most beautiful settings I have ever seen. We stayed for 3 hours and just talked and soaked in the scenery while we ate the delicious food.
I´ve got 5 days to get some work done before my girlfriend Brenda arrives on Tuesday to play again for a week. Its definitely something to look forward to.
If you´re not sure what you would do with six days off to play, then it´s time to start thinking. There is nothing greater for motivation than flipping through some travel magazines, checking out packages at Expedia or going online to www.internationalliving.com and subscribing to their magazine and daily postcards.
If you´re just working because you don´t know what you would do if you had time to play, then today is the day to start your imagination going on your amazing life.
