Since I arrived in Sedona last week, I have been rereading Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. It has been several years since I read it and it really is like reading it for the first time.

One of the lines that has hit me is the false belief that “Knowledge is Power”. Napoleon Hill says that it is nothing of the sort. It is only potential power. It becomes power only when and if it is organized into definite plans of action, geared to a definite end.

I love knowledge. I always have several books I have started around the house. Not fun when you live out of three suitcases but I keep on packing them around the globe. I am also doing a number of courses, all at the same time. However, that knowledge that I am gleaning will only serve me and others if it is organized into definite plans of action, geared to a definite end.

Sure, we may want to learn just for the love of learning. However, as spiritual entrepreneurs, we have an opportunity to do so much more with our knowledge…like change our lives for the better and then live our dreams, our Assignments and help heal the planet. So it is critical that we put the knowledge we are acquiring through the books, products and resources to good use.

I can be so happy with “just learning”, that the application is another phase that often takes me out of my comfort zone or puts me in that place where it feels like “too much work”. I am becoming more aware of where my knowledge is not being used so that is a great eye-opener.

You may have lots of books, courses, and workshops under your belt. But what are you doing with that precious knowledge? Unless you are putting it into action through an organized plan with a definite end, it may be sitting in the backyard of your mind and not having the important impact on your life that it needs to have.

So rather than say that knowledge is power, my new line is: “knowledge is power when it is organized into definite plans of action, geared to a specific end.” That actually feels more exciting and powerful. And that´s exactly what this summer is about for me – creating definite plans of action for a very specific end.

What about you? Although the sun is out and the days are more carefree, it´s also a great opportunity to contemplate your plans of action and your specific end while laying in the sun, going for a walk or relaxing in the backyard or park.

Creating your amazing life will have a combination of knowledge, action and passion all mixed up in a wonderful recipe called your life. Remember to have fun while you create it.
